ABOUT THIS SITE
We have established this free site for educational purposes to meet the
needs of lecturers and students of Australian corporate law. It is designed
to supplement our textbook, Understanding Company
Law 14th ed, Lawbook Co. 2008.
This website contains a comprehensive collection of publicly accessible
internet resources that are categorised on a topic by topic basis and
organised in a user friendly way. The site contains the following features
that will assist lecturers and students in several ways:
- Pathways is the navigational tool
that organises available corporate law internet resources. It contains
topic by topic deep links to legislation and cases, explanatory memoranda,
articles, law reform reports, speeches, ASIC and Treasury websites.
Pathways places these resources into context with cross references to
Understanding Company Law and links to tutorial questions designed
to encourage self-directed learning. Access
to pathways is restricted to purchasers of Lipton &
Herzberg, Understanding Company Law, 14th edition. The password
is contained in the text book.
- Corporate law websites. Our collection
of links reflects the diverse spread of corporate law issues. The links
are annotated to assist with navigation and to encourage
users to visit them. The links are divided into the 2 broad components.
- General links to the homepages of various legal databases, media,
professional associations, governmental and regulatory bodies.
- Deep links to a wide range of internet resources such as articles,
speeches, reform proposals, annotated and arranged on a topic by topic
basis.
- Law Reform. This page
has links to many law reform reports issued by CAMAC/CASAC, Parliamentary
Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services, ASIC and other
bodies. Many of these Reports have formed the basis of amendments to
the Corporations Act.
- Top ASX listed companies. We provide
links to 100 or so of Australia's largest listed companies. These corporate
websites provide valuable information on corporate law in practice.
- Study and exam tips that advises
students on preparation to class, how to answer law questions and how
best to tackle exams.
Please note
